The Frankfurt Book Fair and Publishing Perspectives to host The Markets: Global Publishing Summit
A new conference to kick off the Frankfurt Book Fair, to be held the day before the fair officially opens (14-18 October 2015), will set the theme for the world’s largest industry meeting: ‘The Markets – Global Publishing Summit’ is the name of the one-day event, developed by the team led by Holger Volland, VP Business Development of the Frankfurt Book Fair, in cooperation with the U.S. trade journal Publishing Perspectives. The programme focuses on seven international book markets, which will be introduced by industry experts and analysed from various points of view, with the aim of initiating deals on the spot as well as bringing to light potential areas for business.

Elsevier collaborates with ANPD and OSU CON to launch second national survey on evidence-based practice in nursing
STM publisher Elsevier will collaborate with the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) and the Ohio State University College of Nursing (OSU CON) to launch a second national survey on evidence-based practice in nursing. The survey will be announced at the opening of the ANPD Annual Convention, July 14-17, in Las Vegas.

The British Library and Publishing Technology have announced a new partnership, which will make 5,400 new journal and book titles available via the ingentaconnect online platform. With over 25,000 registered institutions and millions of end users in more than 170 counties accessing scholarly titles via ingentaconnect.com, the agreement offers the British Library a new channel for connecting key international audiences with its Document Supply Service content.

OASPA Board of Directors election results declared
This September four OASPA Board Members reach the end of their term of service and an election was held to determine who will fill the 4 available seats. OASPA Member organisations were invited to put a name forward to the OASPA Nominations Committee earlier in the year. The 4 candidates who received the highest number of votes in the election were Caroline Sutton, Catriona MacCallum, Rhodri Jackson and Xenia van Edig.
