EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has partnered with Faculty of Arts Press, Charles University in Prague, a Czech university publisher, to make its e-books accessible via EBSCO eBooksTM. The first of a few collections to be made available in EBSCO eBooks is from the Varia edition series that contains more than 30 titles and includes scientific monographs in Czech, as well as in English and other languages.

Arizona State University selects ProQuest SIPX to reduce students’ course materials costs and enhance the educational experience
ProQuest SIPX, provider of the most complete digital course materials solutions in higher education, has signed a three-year deal with Arizona State University (ASU), the largest public university in the U.S. with over 90,000 students. ASU will integrate the SIPX Central service—a scalable, self-service configuration that enables anyone at the school to set up course readings—into the campus’ Blackboard learning management system.

ARL awarded IMLS, Sloan Foundation grant to expand and enhance SHARE
The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has been awarded a joint $1.2 million grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to expand and enhance SHARE’s open data set of research and scholarly activities across their life cycle. SHARE is an initiative of the Association of Research Libraries carried out in collaboration with the Association of American Universities (AAU), the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), and the Center for Open Science (COS).

The CCDC celebrates 800,000th structure in the Cambridge Structural Database
The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) has announced that the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) has passed the milestone of 800,000 expert-curated experimental crystal structures with the addition of a novel metal-organic paddle-wheel structure from researchers in Spain.
