EBSCO Information Services has announced that the overall research experience for users of EBSCO Discovery ServiceTM and EBSCOhost® databases is improving with the addition of altmetrics data from PlumTM Analytics, an EBSCO company. By integrating the Plum Print widget into these platforms, users will have a view of modern metrics that allows them to uncover new research insights.

ProQuest expands number of titles available through Access-to-Own to almost 400,000 titles
ProQuest has announced that it has grown the number of titles available through Access-to-Own to almost 400,000 and dramatically increased publisher participation in just eight months with its latest acquisition model launching next month. ProQuest developed Access-to-Own in collaboration with libraries and publishers around the world to provide a usage-based acquisition model that offers a balanced approach and a wider array of frontlist as well as backlist titles to libraries and the researchers they serve.

American Physical Society appoints Prof. Pierre Meystre as new Editor-in-Chief
The Board of Directors of the American Physical Society (APS) has unanimously approved the appointment, put forward by APS CEO Kate Kirby, of Pierre Meystre as Editor in Chief of the Physical Review journals. Meystre is currently Regents Professor of Physics and Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, Director of the Biosphere 2 Institute in Oracle, Arizona, Director of the Arizona Center for STEM Teachers, and has served as lead editor of the journal Physical Review Letters since 2013.

Knowledge Unlatched and University of Michigan Library collaborate to advance open access
Knowledge Unlatched (KU), a not-for- profit company based in England, and University of Michigan Library (U-M Library), a major research library based in Michigan, have announced that they will collaborate to study and overcome remaining obstacles to the spread of open access scholarly publishing in the humanities and social sciences. Under the arrangement, U-M Library will provide a North American base for KU which has recently also established presences in Germany and Australia.
