Quertle, developer of the first artificial intelligence (AI) biomedical big data discovery platform (BioAITM) for biomedical literature, and STM publisher Elsevier have announced that searching of the full-text biomedical and life science content on ScienceDirect, Elsevier’s leading information source with over 14 million publications, will be integrated into Quertle’s artificial intelligence discovery product QinsightTM.

Jisc and OCLC partner to build new UK-wide service that will transform library collaboration
Jisc and OCLC have announced a partnership to build a new shared service that will aggregate academic bibliographic data at scale, improving library collection management and resource discovery for students and researchers. Jisc has announced that OCLC, the global library cooperative, has been awarded the contract to develop a new national bibliographic knowledgebase (NBK).

Knowledge Unlatched and JSTOR partner to study usage of Open Access books
Knowledge Unlatched (KU), the Open Access initiative supporting monographs in the humanities and social sciences, and JSTOR, the digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources, are partnering to study usage patterns in Open Access by cross-promoting KU titles. While KU will continue to host its titles on the OAPEN platform, it will expand the hosting of 30 Open Access titles to JSTOR.

STM publisher EDP Sciences has announced that International Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering(IJMQE) is now a fully gold Open Access journal, meaning that all published articles will be available for anyone to read at any time from the publication date. IJMQE was previously a subscription journal, but the move to Open Access demonstrates EDP Sciences’ support of Open Science and allows unrestricted access to published science.

State Library Victoria selects Ex Libris Rosetta for digital asset management, collection, and preservation
Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that State Library Victoria has chosen the Ex Libris Rosetta digital preservation system to manage its digital resources and sustain them in perpetuity. Rosetta will be replacing the library’s DigiTool® digital asset management system. Opened in 1856 as the Melbourne Public Library, State Library Victoria is Australia’s oldest and busiest public library.
