 Wiley partners with Arizona State University to strengthen higher education outcomes in Vietnam
Publisher John Wiley and Sons Inc. has announced a partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) to provide higher education institutions funding, leadership training materials and publishing workshops in order to develop engineering and science capacity in Vietnam. The agreement complements ASU’s BUILD-IT Project, sponsored by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which brings together government, industry and academic partners with the shared goal of providing high-quality programs that link together science, technology engineering and math (STEM) disciplines.

 UK’s scientific legacy in the Royal Society’s new digital archive
The Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences, is making over 330 years’ worth of high-quality, full colour images from its journals available online. The content, which includes annotations, illustrations, and additional material between 1665 and 1996, has so far only been available to people visiting the library. Up until January 24, 2018, the archive will be free to access.

 EDP Sciences and Couperin.org sign 5-year open access deal
EDP Sciences and Couperin.org, the national consortium for academics in France, have signed a significant 5-year open access deal. Through this deal, all authors from French institutions participating in the agreement, including world leading research centers, universities and engineering schools will now be able to choose to publish their articles under an open access CC-BY license in a large selection of EDP Sciences journals regardless of whether their institution has a current subscription or not.
