 CAS announces availability of new whitepaper – Global Science & Technology Report: Graphene Research & Development
CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, has announced the availability of the whitepaper, Global Science & Technology Report: Graphene Research & Development, highlighting key trends in the dynamic graphene research landscape. Published in Chinese and English, this inaugural report results from a joint effort between CAS and National Science Library (NSL), Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is the first in a series of data analytics projects focusing on high-impact emerging technology areas that CAS data scientists are undertaking.

 Wiley partners with The British Psychological Society to improve replicability and transparency of scientific research
Publisher John Wiley and Sons Inc. and the British Psychological Society (BPS), a registered charity responsible for the development, promotion and application of psychology for the public good, have partnered to enable researchers to publish Registered Reports. This new article type allows researchers the benefits of peer review of their methods and study design before they begin their work and offers in principle acceptance, irrespective of research outcome.

 American Chemical Society names Dr. Marc A. Hillmyer as new editor-in-chief of Macromolecules
The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Marc A. Hillmyer, Presidential McKnight endowed chair and professor of chemistry at the University of Minnesota, has been appointed the new editor-in-chief of Macromolecules. Hillmyer previously served as an associate editor of the journal for 10 years. He will succeed current editor-in-chief Dr. Timothy P. Lodge, starting in January 2018.

 CABI backs use of open data in agricultural science at APEC symposium in Beijing
CABI contributed to an Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Symposium on Agricultural Science Data Sharing and Service which brought together over 30 participants from 15 countries within APEC and other national and international organisations at a meeting in Beijing. The aim of the symposium was to enhance mutual understanding on the status of agricultural science data sharing in APEC members; exchange experiences and lessons on science and technology resources sharing; and discuss technology frameworks for agricultural data sharing in agriculture.
