The number one open access journal in multidisciplinary sciences, Nature Communications is NPG’s flagship open access title. Nature Communications will accept open access research submissions from October 20, 2014.

Kudos and ORCID partner to help authors increase discoverability and impact of their work
Kudos, which helps researchers and institutions maximise the impact and visibility of their publications, has announced a partnership through which the ORCID researcher identifier will be integrated into the Kudos platform to facilitate authors’ ability to identify and claim publications. Kudos will also enable authors to register for an ORCID through the Kudos site.

Wolters Kluwer Clinical Drug Information used by more than 96 percent of Honor Roll Hospitals in latest U.S. News and World Report
Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that its Clinical Drug Information solutions are currently used by more than 96 percent of hospitals achieving Honor Roll status in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2014-2015 and Best Children’s Hospital’s 2014-2015 rankings. The 2014-15 hospital rankings evaluated surveys of more than 9,500 physicians across nearly 5,000 medical centers in the U.S. High scores within at least six of the 16 specialties evaluated earned 17 hospitals a place on the Honor Roll.

Digital Science grows its consultancy division, REF impact case studies to be analysed
Digital Science, a technology company with a focus on the sciences, has announced that its Consultancy division will undertake a new project to analyse the wider impact of the research undertaken by UK universities. Working in conjunction with sister company Nature Publishing Group and the policy institute at King’s College, London, the analysis commissioned by HEFCE and partners, will draw on the 6,975 impact case studies submitted to the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
