Publishers applaud Congress for introduction of balanced TPA legislation
The Association of American Publishers (AAP) commends Chairman Hatch, Senator Wyden and Chairman Ryan for the introduction of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation. The Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act of 2015 recognises the importance of strong intellectual property protection for strengthening global economies through creativity and innovation. Publishers urge Congress to move quickly to enact this legislation.

Elsevier introduces three new communications engineering books at ICASSP 2015
STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of ‘Machine Learning: A Bayesian and Optimization Perspective’ by signal processing expert Dr. Sergios Theodoridis. This book provides an in-depth understanding of all primary machine learning methods. It will be featured, along with two other new communications engineering books, in Elsevier’s booth # 10 at the 40th IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) 2015 held in Brisbane, Australia, April 19-24.

US Department of Energy and CHORUS sign Participation Agreement to advance public access
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has signed a Participation Agreement with CHORUS to contribute to the implementation of DOE PAGESBeta, the DOE’s Public Access Gateway for Energy & Science. The agreement, which is effective immediately, solidifies the collaboration that was announced in August 2014 and moves a two-year effort into the next phase of production.
