STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of a new version of the Pure Experts Portal, its leading research information management system, and part of the Elsevier Research Intelligence portfolio of integrated tools and services. The Pure Experts Portal is an easy-to-use analytical web-based tool that enables universities, corporate research facilities and other scholarly institutions to publically showcase research strengths and find collaborators through prepopulated researcher profiles.

EBSCO and Portico announce partnership to ensure long-term availability of Digital Archives
EBSCO Information Services is partnering with Portico to preserve collections from its Digital Archives products. EBSCO’s Portico participation means that there will be uninterrupted access to the historical content in these collections. EBSCO will be taking part in Portico’s D-Collection Preservation Service which preserves digitised historic collections on behalf of participating publishers.

ProQuest launches next database of Early European Books with Collection 7, further enhances access to research
ProQuest has further enhanced access to research with the launch of the next database of Early European Books (EEB) with Collection 7, making another 7,450 titles available. This will bring the EEB program to more than 40,000 titles and 14 million pages of valuable images from the early modern period. The total number of page images in EEB now surpasses the number of page images in ProQuest’s acclaimed Early English Books Online, EEBO database.

Academic publisher Brill has adopted DataSalon’s MasterVision platform to clean and connect a wide range of books and journals customer data, and including the OrgRef dataset for enhanced data quality and standard institutional identifiers. MasterVision gives Brill a complete single view of all their books and journals customers, incorporating subscribers, platform registrants, authors and marketing data. The OrgRef dataset provides Brill with a trusted and licence-free way to standardise institutional data.

PubRef partners with Aries Systems to use the Editorial Manager Ingest Service
Aries Systems, a workflow solutions provider for scholarly publishers, has announced that PubRef will be participating in the EM Ingest initiative. The agreement between Aries Systems and PubRef will allow authors to directly submit manuscripts created and managed in PubRef’s platform to the thousands of scholarly journals that use Editorial Manager for submission and peer review.
