Springer and Politecnico di Torino partner to publish new book series – PoliTO Springer Series
STM publisher Springer, part of the newly formed publishing group Springer Nature, and Politecnico di Torino, Italy’s oldest technical university, will partner to publish a new book series called PoliTO Springer Series. Focusing on cutting-edge research and practical applications across a wide spectrum of fields, the series will publish around 15 books a year.

STM publisher Elsevier and the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), has announced the winners of the 2015 NASI-Scopus Young Scientist Awards. More than 100 guests representing the best from India’s scientific community attended the awards ceremony – now in its sixth year of inception – held at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India & Chairman Scientific Advisory Committee to Cabinet, presented the awards to this year’s winners.

Thieme’s Neurointerventional Techniques a winner at 2015 BMA Medical Book Awards
Medical and scientific publisher Thieme has announced that Neurointerventional Techniques: Tricks of the Trade, by L. Fernando Gonzalez, Felipe C. Albuquerque, and Cameron McDougall, has won Highly Commended in the Neurology category at the 2015 British Medical Association’s Medical Book Awards ceremony recently held in London. Dove Medical Press reinstated as OASPA member
It has been almost two years since Dove’s membership was terminated owing to concerns about the rigour of the editorial and peer review processes at the journals. The OASPA Membership Committee is satisfied that the new editorial procedures which are now in place have addressed the concerns that were raised during the investigation last year and, as a result, the Committee has decided to reinstate Dove Medical Press as a full member of OASPA.

ASCO publishes first articles in new Journal of Global Oncology
The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has announced the publication of seven articles in its new Journal of Global Oncology (JGO). The first articles for this online-only, open-access journal are now available at www.jgo.org. The journal is funded through the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology with the support of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and Novartis Oncology.
