STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of six new animal science books, including the second edition of the comprehensive resource Animal Behavior, edited by Michael Breed and Janice Moore. The book broadly covers animal behaviour from its neurological basis to the importance of behaviour in conservation.

OCLC, the non-profit computer library service and research organisation, has printed its last library catalogue cards, officially closing the book on what was once a familiar resource for generations of information seekers who now use computer catalogues and online search engines to access library collections around the world. The final print run marked the end of a service that has steadily decreased over the past few decades as libraries have moved their catalogues online.

Eliza Manningham-Buller starts as Chair of Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Trust has announced that Eliza Manningham-Buller has started as the Trust’s new Chair. Baroness Manningham-Buller is the first woman to chair the Wellcome Trust’s Board of Governors, and was appointed following an open recruitment process. She was previously a Governor of the Wellcome Trust, and succeeds Sir William Castell as Chair who retired on September 30, 2015.
