Frankfurt Book Fair 2015 begins
The annual Frankfurt Book Fair began with 69 publishing and book experts from seven countries offering over 300 participants from 20 countries exclusive insight into their publishing regions as part of ‘The Markets – Global Publishing Summit’, the new conference to kick off the Frankfurt Book Fair, on October 13. About 7,100 exhibitors from more than 100 countries are attending the Frankfurt Book Fair this year. Over the course of the next 5 days, the fair will offer over 3300 events featuring internationally renowned writers and publishing professionals sharing their expertise.

Indonesian academic publishers set to announce co-publishing agreements with Springer Nature at Frankfurt Book Fair 2015
Universitas Gadjah Madah Press and Yayasan Pustaka Obor Indonesia are both set to announce co-publishing agreements with Springer Nature at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015. Springer Nature will publish the English-language editions of a selection of titles from each publisher’s list. The new co-publishing agreement will be officially announced at this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair on October 15.

Karen Bartleson selected as 2016 IEEE President-Elect

AAUP receives planning grant to explore new discovery-and-delivery platform for scholarly books
The Association of American University Presses (AAUP) has received a planning grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the exploration of a university press platform for discovery and delivery of longform scholarship. With the working name UPScope, the discovery and delivery platform would be based on the model of AcademyScope, the innovative content visualisation and discovery interface developed by the National Academies Press (NAP).
