Thomson Reuters unveils 2016 ranking of most influential scientific journals
The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the 2016 update of its Journal Citation Reports® (JCR), the world’s most influential resource for evaluating peer-reviewed publications and the source of annual journal metrics, including the Journal Impact Factor (JIF). The Journal Citation Reports provides an assessment of a journal’s standing in scholarly literature through the objective evaluation of quantifiable, statistical information.

WuXi AppTec adopts Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry to support research and expansion ambitions
STM publisher Elsevier has announced that WuXi AppTec, the world’s largest Contract Research Outsourcing (CRO) provider, has adopted Reaxys® and Reaxys® Medicinal Chemistry. More than 3,500 chemists across WuXi will use the products to support their synthetic chemistry and medicinal chemistry research, giving them quick and easy access to state of the art chemistry information.

THE MARKETS – Global Publishing Summit 2016
In 2015, for the first time in four years, sales of printed books once again rose slightly, by 0.4 per cent, from 2.748 billion pounds to 2.760 billion pounds. By contrast, at the same time and for the first time in seven years, digital sales (e-books, audio downloads, online subscriptions) decreased by 2 per cent, from 563 million pounds to 554 million pounds. In addition to the United Kingdom, THE MARKETS Global Publishing Summit, the conference to kick off the Frankfurt Book Fair, will also put the spotlight on six other book markets in 2016 – Brazil, Flanders & the Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Spain, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers has announced significant growth in the impact factors of its peer-reviewed journals, as reported in the new 2015 Journal Citation Reports® (Thomson Reuters, 2016). More than 60 percent of the Publisher’s portfolio of previously indexed journals received increased impact factors, with 17 titles seeing double-digit percentage increases.
