Wiley journals increase Impact Factors in 2015 Journal Citation Reports
Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced an increase in impact factors across more than half of its indexed titles. According to the 2015 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), recently released by Thomson Reuters, 58% of Wiley journals increased their impact factor from 2014 to 2015. Wiley had 1,204 journals indexed (73% of the Wiley portfolio), an increase on the previous year, with 11 Wiley titles receiving their first impact factor in this year’s JCR release.

Royal Society of Chemistry journal RSC Advances goes gold open access
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has announced that from January 2017 its journal RSC Advances will convert to gold open access. The announcement was made at the Chinese Chemical Society 30th Annual Meeting in Dalian on July 1, 2016. By changing one of the largest chemical sciences journals in the world to an open access model, the Society seeks to shape the future of open access publishing, maximise the visibility of research in the chemical sciences and related areas, and help authors meet their funder and institutional requirements.

Nutrire publishes first articles in nutrition and food science with BioMed Central
Nutrire, an open access, peer reviewed journal devoted to food and nutrition science has published its first articles with open access publisher BioMed Central. The journal is the official journal of the Brazilian Society for Food and Nutrition, and had previously been published by the society since 1990.
