 Committee on Publication Ethics announces changes to its Code of Conduct and new policy on expulsions
The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) recently announced changes to its Code of Conduct as well as a new policy on sanctions against member journal editors and publishers that do not follow their ‘principles.’ Both of these documents provide very helpful advice on how to organise and run a professional journal. The Code of Conduct includes ‘must do’ items for members as well as ‘aspirational’ suggested best practices.

 New partnership between Pensoft and BEXIS 2 supports data paper publications
German open source platform BEXIS 2 and academic publisher Pensoft have announced a new partnership, as a result of which, scientists are now able to publish data papers in three of the most innovative Pensoft journals – Biodiversity Data Journal (BDJ)One Ecosystem and Metabarcoding and Metagenomics (MBMG) – using EML data packs from BEXIS 2. The collaboration allows for researchers to easily store, analyse and manage their data via BEXIS 2, before sharing it with the scientific community in a creditable format.

The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) has published the report, Behaviours and Technical Recommendations of the COAR Next Generation Repositories Working Group.
