 New partnership between Springer Nature and BenchSci to benefit biomedical researchers
Springer Nature and BenchSci, a life science machine learning startup, have announced a new partnership designed to address the challenge millions of biomedical researchers face when searching for biological products for their research in scientific papers. The licensing agreement will see papers from Springer Nature’s biomedical journals decoded, indexed and displayed on BenchSci, an artificial intelligence discoverability platform that decodes scientific papers and extracts data related to proper use of biological compounds.

Academic publisher Taylor & Francis and Code Ocean, a cloud-based computational reproducibility platform, have announced a new partnership that enables researchers to easily share and run code, making journal articles more robust. Readers will enjoy new interactivity where the Code Ocean widget is embedded within an article. They can run the code instantly within the page to easily reproduce and replicate data findings, so results can be verified and tested, and knowledge improved.

 SPIE and ACCUCOMS extend collaboration to MENA
ACCUCOMS has expanded its relationship with SPIE, the International Society for Optics and Photonics, by representing the SPIE Digital Library in MENA in addition to its already established agreements in India and Eastern Europe. The agreement is effective January 1, 2018. More than 469,000 research papers and 320 ebooks from the SPIE Press are published in the SPIE Digital Library, making it the world’s largest collection of optics and photonics research.

OCLC has signed agreements with distinguished publishers from around the world to add metadata for high-quality books, e-books, journals, databases and other materials that will make their content discoverable through WorldCat Discovery. OCLC has agreements in place with 325 publishers and information providers to supply metadata to facilitate discovery and access to key resources relevant to researchers, faculty and students.
