 ProQuest and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey in deal to provide researchers access to authoritative dissertation and thesis collection
ProQuest and TÜBITAK ULAKBIM, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, have announced a partnership to provide researchers at higher education institutions in Turkey with access to full-text dissertations and theses from around the globe. The first national deal to be signed between ProQuest and TÜBITAK ULAKBIM, this agreement gives faculty and students in about 200 universities unlimited access to the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses GlobalTM database (PQDT).

 Karger Publishers acquires Health Press Ltd. to strengthen its clinical decision support business
Medical and scientific publisher Karger Publishers has acquired UK-based Health Press Ltd in a move to strengthen its clinical decision support business. This acquisition complements Karger’s German-based activities in translating knowledge from scientific research to clinical practice. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The Architecture Committee of the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has published its 2018 update of the NISO Strategic Directions document which will be used by its leadership groups, the NISO Topic Committees, to direct the future development portfolios of standards and recommended practices.
