Scope e-Knowledge Center (Scope), an SPi Global Company, and Anna University have announced that a collaborative work on a Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) based algorithm for keyphrase extraction from unstructured text, entitled “A Supervised Learning to Rank Approach for Dependency Based Concept Extraction and Repository Based Boosting for Domain Text Indexing” was presented during the 23rd International Conference on Natural Language & Information Systems (June 13 – 15, 2018, Paris, France). Alternative metrics provider Altmetric has added citation data from research insights platform Dimensions to all of its tools and services, providing extensive visibility of where and to what extent scholarly publications have been cited by other academic works. The openly-available Dimensions citation data joins mentions from sources such as the mainstream media, patents and policy makers on Altmetric details pages, which provide a complete record of all of the online attention found for an item.

NLM appoints Dr. Dina Paltoo as Assistant Director, Policy Development |
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has announced the appointment of Dr. Dina Paltoo as its Assistant Director for Policy Development, effective July 9, 2018. In this role, she leads NLM’s policy and legislative activities which promote access to scientific data and information, as well as health information technology.
