 EBSCO Information Services releases Serials Price Projection Report for 2019
EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has released the 2019 Serials Price Projection Report. The report projects that the overall effective publisher price increases for academic and academic medical libraries are expected to be in the range of five to six percent (before currency impact). EBSCO releases the Serials Price Projection Report based on surveys of a wide range of publishers and reviews historical serials pricing data to assist information professionals as they make budgeting decisions for the renewals season.

 Cambridge University Press announces content sharing success
Academic publisher Cambridge University Press has announced that its content sharing tool, Cambridge Core Share, is now a permanent feature of its online books and journals platform following a successful ten-month pilot. Launched in December 2017, Cambridge Core Share helps to make research more open and accessible by enabling users to generate a link to a read-only version of a journal article which can be shared online, allowing anyone to read the final version of the article for free.

 JMU Libraries in partnership with ARL receives IMLS national forum grant
James Madison University (JMU) Libraries, in partnership with the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), has been awarded $89,000 by the US Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to convene a national forum of experts and stakeholders to address key opportunities and challenges in building a collective collection-development system for open access (OA) content. This ‘OA in the Open’ forum will engage participants in creative thinking around how a new collective funding model could be designed to minimise the creation of new membership organisations while simultaneously building community stakeholdership.

 Ex Libris achieves ISO 27017 certification for security controls for cloud services
Ex Libris® Group, a ProQuest company, has announced that the company has achieved certification for ISO/IEC 27017:2015, an international standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO/IEC 27017:2015 provides a code of practice for information security controls, including guidelines that expand upon the ISO/IEC 27002 standard by adding security controls specifically related to cloud computing.
