 New RLUK, The National Archives and Jisc report to initiate a discussion about citation practices
Research Libraries UK (RLUK)The National Archives (TNA) and Jisc have published a report to kickstart a discussion about citation practices, and how to standardise references to unique and distinct collections (UDC’s) held in repositories across the UK. The report, delivered by The Research Base, looks at the challenges and opportunities related to improving the consistency and accuracy of current citation practices for UDC materials, as well as the strategies and tools required to effectively capture data for citations.

 NISO releases draft KBART Automation Recommended Practice for public comment
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) seeks comments on a new draft Recommended Practice, KBART Automation: Automated Retrieval of Customer Electronic Holdings. KBART Automation is an enhancement to KBART, Knowledge Bases and Related Tools, the NISO initiative which provides a format for content providers to use to transfer journal and book metadata to link resolver knowledge bases and other library software. This new draft recommended practice provides instructions to support automated feeds customised to include the holdings available at a particular institution, making it much easier for libraries to know their knowledge bases are up to date with their current subscriptions.

 Edanz Group and ORCID integrate authoring platforms to streamline manuscript preparation process
Edanz Group has announced a new collaboration with ORCID which will make it possible for authors to connect their ORCID iD to the company’s Author Path, Author Academy, and Author Services websites. Now, users of the Chinese- and English-language versions of Edanz’s websites will be able to connect their ORCID iD to their Edanz account and access all of the company’s products.

 Several UC-licensed Gale databases now live on Artemis platform
Several of the UC-licensed Gale databases are now live on the Artemis platform and are still available on the existing Gale platform as well. At present, the PIDs still point to the existing Gale platform. The PIDs will be updated when the switch to the new platform occurs.

 Cabells surpasses 10,000 journals indexed on Journal Blacklist
Cabells has surpassed the 10,000 journal mark for its Journal Blacklist, a searchable database of predatory journals identified by multiple breaches of 65 different criteria. Launched in June 2017, Cabells’ Journal Blacklist claims to be the only database available to scholars of deceptive and predatory academic journals.
