2015 ALPSP Conference – An Update |
The 2nd day of the ALPSP conference started with Keynote from Kuansan Wang, Director of the Internet service Research Centre, Microsoft Research. This Keynote considered the impact for the publishing and consumption of content, drawing on observations derived from a web scale data set, newly released to the public. The winners of the 2015 ALPSP Awards were announced at the ALPSP Conference Dinner on September 10. Kudos was named winner of the 2015 ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing. Frankfurt Book Fair renews sponsorship for the FutureBook Awards 2015 |
The Frankfurt Book Fair has announced that, for the third year in a row, it will be sponsoring one of the key categories at this year’s FutureBook Innovation Awards. More than 80,000 geological maps added to Elsevier’s Geofacets platform |
STM publisher Elsevier has announced that select content from some of the American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) leading journals is now available in Geofacets. This addition of 80,000 maps will further increase the amount of essential geological information in the database, helping geoscientists make more informed interpretations and gain greater confidence in their recommendations and decisions regarding investments in new exploration opportunities. WHO-hosted HINARI Program partners with Wolters Kluwer to provide free access to UpToDate to Ebola-affected African countries |
The World Health Organization (WHO)-hosted HINARI program has announced a partnership with Wolters Kluwer to provide free access to UpToDate®, its evidence-based clinical decision support resource, to the three countries affected by Ebola (Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea) for an initial period of at least one year. The main objective of this partnership is to build and strengthen capacity in those countries by providing their health workers with free access to the new developments in physician care, new research and up-to-date clinical information.
