Springer Nature hits milestone of 200,000 ORCID identifiers |
Springer Nature, a global research, educational and professional publisher, has reached an important new milestone, with over 200,000 ORCID identifiers in use for journal articles as of January 1, 2016. This follows November’s announcement that Springer Nature will be the first publisher to enable all Springer and Palgrave Macmillan authors and editors to apply their ORCID IDs to academic books and chapters.

HarvardX, a Harvard University-wide strategic initiative, has launched a new MOOC featuring content from several of Elsevier’s high profile medical journals in response to the report of the Harvard-LSHTM Independent Panel on the Global Response to Ebola by the World Health Organization. The HarvardX MOOC ‘Lessons from Ebola: Preventing the Next Pandemic’ went live December 3, 2015.

ASME’ new journal to focus on clean energy |
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has announced the February 2016 launch of a new Journal of Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage. The journal will focus on a cleaner future through batteries, fuel cells and other energy conversion and storage technologies. A publication of ASME, the Journal of Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Storage replaces the ASME Journal of Fuel Cell Science and Technology.
