Figshare partners with Springer Nature to enhance research data discoverability
Figshare, an online digital repository for academic research, has announced a new partnership with Springer Nature to support BioMed Central and SpringerOpen authors who wish to openly share their supplementary data. Figshare is now hosting additional files from more than 300 BioMed Central and SpringerOpen journals.

EBSCO Information Services and Clarivate Analytics to make BIOSIS Previews and Zoological Record available via EBSCOhost platform
EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) will be adding two new resources, BIOSIS PreviewsTM and Zoological RecordTM, to the EBSCOhost® platform. EBSCO and Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters, have expanded their partnership to make these two resources available via EBSCOhost, the most-used for-fee electronic resource in libraries around the world.

Margaret Hamburg selected to serve as AAAS president-elect
Margaret Hamburg, the foreign secretary of the National Academy of Medicine, has been chosen to serve as president-elect of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She will begin her three-year term as an officer and member of the Executive Committee of the AAAS Board of Directors at the conclusion of the 183rd AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston on February 21, 2017.
