ORCID and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), with support from a working group of 16 Canadian stakeholders who are all deeply committed to supporting research, scholarship, and innovation in Canada, are collaborating to build ORCID-CA, the ORCID consortium in Canada. PubMed, the leading database of abstracts from medical and life science journals, will reportedly include authors’ conflict-of-interest statements and link them to abstracts so they are accessible on search pages. PubMed’s new policy comes over a year after a group of scientists, physicians, organisations, and a handful of US senators sent a letter to the NLM and the National Institutes of Health asking them to publish the disclosers.
