Western Sydney University (WSU) has extended its partnership with ProQuest to offset one major piece of that cost – textbooks. Through WSU’s digital textbook program, all 10,000 first-year students at the university’s 10 teaching campuses located across the Western Sydney region in Australia will gain access to textbooks through Ebook Central, ProQuest’s ebook platform. In a new Association of Research Libraries (ARL) white paper, a task force of expert Wikidata users recommend a variety of ways for librarians to use the open knowledge base in advancing global discovery of their collections, faculty, and institutions. The white paper, circulated for public comment in fall 2018, contains examples of Wikidata applications, screenshots, and recommendations for involvement on an individual or organisational level. Duke University Press announces Dean Smith as its next Director |
Duke University Press has announced Dean Smith, the director of Cornell University Press, as its new director. Smith succeeds Steve Cohn, who is retiring at the end of June.
