Elsevier adds five new subject areas to its Legacy eBook Collection on ScienceDirect
STM publisher Elsevier has added five new subject areas to its Legacy eBook Collection on ScienceDirect. The Legacy Collection consists of digitised, classic scholarly book content, now including nearly 13,000 books. The new subject areas are arts and humanities; computer science; economics, econometrics and finance; immunology and microbiology; and mathematics. In addition, there are newly digitised books in the engineering and the biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology collections.

SUNYConnect implements EBSCO Discovery Service
SUNYConnect, a New York library system of public institutions of higher education, has implemented EBSCO Discovery ServiceTM (EDS) from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) as its discovery solution provider. SUNYConnect is an entity of the State University of New York (SUNY) and the largest comprehensive system of universities, colleges, and community colleges in the United States. Of the 60 SUNYConnect institutions, 51 have opted to implement EDS and initial feedback has been very positive.

Tyler Walters named SHARE’s founding director
Tyler Walters, dean of university libraries at Virginia Tech, has been named SHARE’s founding director, beginning on October 13, 2014. Walters has been involved integrally in SHARE since its inception, serving as co-chair of the SHARE steering group for the past year. The directorship is a two-year term appointment, during which Walters will continue to serve as dean of libraries at Virginia Tech.
