New Science Europe principles on Open Access Publisher Services
Members of Science Europe – comprising 50 major public research organisations in Europe – adopted four new common principles on Open Access Publisher Services at its General Assembly meeting in Vienna on April 15. Science Europe is an association of major European research funding and research performing organisations in 27 countries, established in 2011, to promote the collective interest of its members and to foster collaboration between them.

Emergency Access Initiative activated to support healthcare professionals responding to earthquake in Nepal
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has announced that Emergency Access Initiative (EAI) has been activated to support healthcare professionals working on the response to the earthquake in Nepal. The EAI is a collaborative partnership between NLM and participating publishers to provide free access to full-text from more than 650 biomedical journals and more than 4,000 reference books and online databases to healthcare professionals and libraries affected by disasters.

Thieme Publishers Rio named official book publisher for Funda?ão Otorrinolaringologia
Medical and scientific publisher Thieme Publishers Rio (TPR) has signed on to be the official book publisher for Fundação Otorrinolaringologia (FORL), the largest otorhinolaryngology funding agency in Brazil. TPR currently publishes International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, the official journal of Fundação Otorrinolaringologia. The first book published under this new partnership is Tratado de Implante Coclear e Proteses Implantáveis by Dr. Ricardo Bento.

The China National Science and Technology Library (NSTL) has approved the purchase and hosting of the Karger Journal Archive Collection. It comprises journal issues from 1893 to 1997. The licence covers nationwide access for academic and non-commercial organisations in mainland China.
