SAGE launches streaming video collections to support pedagogical, curricular and research needs
Academic and professional publisher SAGE has announced the launch of SAGE Video, streaming video collections designed to support a range of needs across higher education, including pedagogical use in undergraduate teaching and learning and higher-level academic study and research. Celebrating 50 years as a social and behavioural science publisher in 2015, the first three collections of video content – available now – include Education, Communication and Media Studies, and Counseling and Psychotherapy. More collections will be added in 2016.

Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition transfers to BioMed Central
Open access publisher BioMed Central will publish the Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition. The journal was first published in 1983 and in transferring to the open access publisher it joins the growing number of global health journals within the portfolio. BioMed Central and the journal’s new Editor-in-Chief, Abdullah Baqui, hope to continue the distinguished history of the journal established by the public health research organisation International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b), which was associated with the journal from 2000 to 2015.

U.S. Senate confirms Willie E. May as 15th director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology
On May 4, 2015, the U.S. Senate confirmed Willie E. May as the second Under Secretary of Commerce for Standards and Technology and the 15th director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). May has been serving as acting director since June 2014. He has worked at NIST since 1971, leading research activities in chemical and biological measurement science activities prior to serving as associate director for laboratory programs and principal deputy to the NIST director.

Public Reading Network of Euskadi becomes first public library group in Spain to make its collections globally accessible via WorldCat
Red de Lectura Pública de Euskadi (Public Reading Network of Euskadi) has announced that its union catalogue, which represents the collections of more than 240 municipal libraries in the Basque Country of Spain, will be added to WorldCat in 2015. The Network will add more than 650,000 records to WorldCat, including approximately 55,000 Basque titles.
