Thomson Reuters announces the world’s most influential scientific minds
The Intellectual Property (IP) and Science business of Thomson Reuters, has announced the release of ‘The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds,’ a citation analysis identifying the scientists – as determined by their fellow researchers – who have made the most significant global impact within their respective field of study. The two-part study includes an 11 year assessment of research paper citations to determine the leaders within 21 broad fields of science.

Springer Healthcare and the American Society of Clinical Oncology expand relationship
Springer Healthcare, part of Springer Nature, has signed an exclusive three-year global commercial reprints representation agreement with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The new agreement, which began on January 1, 2016, adds another of ASCO’s flagship publications, the Journal of Global Oncology, to Springer Healthcare’s portfolio and expands its reach to include Africa, South Korea, France, Latin America and the Middle East.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology selects Sheridan for journals and meeting publications services
Sheridan, a provider of print, publishing services and technology solutions to publishers, associations, university presses, and cataloguers, was recently awarded editorial services and print production for two journal titles of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Inc. (ASCO®) as well as 14 of ASCO®’s meeting publications, beginning in January 2016. Editorial services for ASCO’s Journal of Clinical Oncology will be handled by Sheridan Journal Services, and print production will be done by Sheridan’s New Hampshire printing facility.

bioRxiv preprints can now be submitted directly to leading research journals
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) has announced that authors of manuscripts posted on its preprint server bioRxiv can now submit their papers directly to several leading research journals, avoiding the need for reloading files and re-entering information at the journal’s website. Direct submission to Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America will also soon be available.

Jisc appoints Robin Ghurbhurun as new trustee
Jisc has announced that it is strengthening its board of trustees with the appointment of Robin Ghurbhurun, chief executive and principal of Richmond upon Thames College who joins this month. At the same time Heather MacDonald, interim principal and chief executive of Loughborough College, will step down after a three year tenure as a trustee.
