The Frankfurt Book Fair, scheduled for October 19-23, 2016, and Publishing Perspectives will host THE MARKETS: Global Publishing Summit for the second year now. The Summit is projected to help publishers worldwide better understand and build relationships in seven important current and future markets. On October 18, 2016, the pre-fair conference will showcase these seven markets: Brazil, Flanders & The Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Spain, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Elsevier unveils news OA journal – IBRO Reports
STM publisher Elsevier and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) have announced the launch of IBRO Reports, an open access journal focused on brain research and sister journal of Neuroscience. Y.S. Chan, from the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

First of several draft outputs from the NISO Altmetrics Initiative is now available for input from stakeholders
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is seeking comments on the draft Altmetrics Data Quality Code of Conduct, NISO RP-25-201X-3, one output of a multi-pronged, multi-phase project that aims to build trust in and adoption of new methods of assessing impact. Further draft outputs from two other working groups, addressing altmetrics definitions, use cases, specific output types, and use of persistent identifiers, are expected to be released for public comment in the coming weeks.

New partnership between PNAS and Overleaf to provide PNAS authors with direct access to Overleaf
The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) and Overleaf have announced a partnership providing PNAS authors with direct access to Overleaf, a cloud-based scientific authoring platform that makes it easy for researchers to write, collaborate, and publish documents. Through this partnership, authors wishing to submit to PNAS will be able to conveniently open Overleaf customised PNAS LaTeX templates from within the PNAS journal website.
