SPARC and Johns Hopkins University Libraries collaborate to launch resource analyzing US federal data sharing policies
The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Libraries, has released a new resource for tracking, comparing, and understanding U.S. federal funder research data sharing policies. This free tool, launched at datasharing.sparcopen.org, provides a detailed analysis of 16 federal agency responses to the directive issued by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) on Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Research.

Applications called for ALPSP Awards for Innovation in Publishing 2016

SCOAP3 initiative extended for three more years
The SCOAP3 collaboration has announced the extension of this Open Access initiative for three more years, from January 2017 through December 2019. Following the success of the first years of operation of SCOAP3, representatives of the 3,000 SCOAP3 partners in 47 countries, ten scholarly publishers and CERN as the host organisation of the collaboration have now agreed the terms for this continuation.

Cambridge University Press launches new OA journal – Global Sustainability
