Five Elsevier titles honoured with Textbook Excellence awards
STM publisher Elsevier has announced that five of its books will receive 2017 textbook awards in the College category from the Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA). Three titles will receive the Textbook Excellence Award, better known as a “Texty;” one title will receive the Most Promising New Textbook Award; and one title will receive a William Holmes McGuffey Longevity Award. The awards will be presented during an awards ceremony on June 9, 2017, at TAA’s 30th Annual Conference in Providence, RI.

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) will partner with the March for Science, a nonpartisan set of activities that aim to promote science education and the use of scientific evidence to inform policy. The March for Science has released a list of more than 25 initial partner organisations and suggestions for science engagement activities at hundreds of locations throughout the United States and around the world to coincide with the previously announced March for Science rally in Washington, DC, scheduled for April 22.
