 International Organization for Standardization publishes latest edition of ISBN Standard
The fifth and latest edition of the ISBN Standard (ISO 2108) has now been published by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) – the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is one of the best known standards in the world – the 13 digit number for a publication, (usually represented as a bar code if it is a printed book), is a familiar sight to many.

 ISSN and DOAJ announce renewed partnership
DOAJ has announced the renewal of its partnership with ISSN. DOAJ is heavily reliant on issn.org (the ISSN database) as having a fully registered and confirmed ISSN is one of the first checks that the Editorial Team undertakes when considering applications. For DOAJ, obtaining an ISSN for a journal is the first of many steps that a publisher can take to show that a journal intends to adhere to Best Practice.

 Frontiers and Figshare partner to promote open data
Open-access scholarly publisher Frontiers recently announced its integration with Figshare’s online digital repository ahead of Open Data Day. The new service – which is provided at no extra charge to authors – also helps Frontiers authors to satisfy institutional and funder requirements for open and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data.
