Wolters Kluwer Health has completed the divestment of ProVation Medical to Clearlake Capital Group, L.P., as originally announced on January 11, 2018. ProVation Medical is the U.S. market-leader in gastroenterology procedure documentation software and is also a major supplier of order sets to hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The business had revenues of Euro 65 million in 2016 and has approximately 200 employees.

eLife has announced Anna Akhmanova, Professor of Cell Biology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, as a new Deputy Editor.  Peter Lang transitions eleven subscription-based scholarly journals to full open access
Academic publisher Peter Lang has announced plans to transition eleven of its subscription-based scholarly journals to full open access as part of its ongoing commitment to Open Access in academic publishing. Free online access to articles from these journals will be available on the new Open Access platform IngentaOpen, starting with each journal’s first issue of 2018. All content will continue to undergo a robust peer review process.

The fifth annual Fair Use/Fair Dealing Week took place February 26-March 2, 2018, growing to 153 participating organisations-as well as numerous individuals-celebrating the important and flexible doctrines of fair use and fair dealing worldwide. This year’s event was organised by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and participants included universities, libraries, library associations, and many other organisations.
