Academic publisher Taylor & Francis has implemented new copyediting technology to support faster publication speed across its portfolio of 2500 academic journals. ‘Contextualized Copyediting’ uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to assess and score the language quality of articles accepted into Taylor & Francis journals, so that they can be routed to an appropriate level of copyediting.

 Patent data in Altmetric highlights the commercialisation of research
Data science company Altmetric has announced the addition of worldwide patent data from IFI CLAIMS®, making it possible for users to more easily track the commercialisation and potential economic impacts of their organisations’ research. Records from 9 international patent offices are included as part of the integration, which so far has surfaced more than 750,000 citations to articles, books, clinical trials and other scholarly outputs from over 8 million patents. Patents filed from 1994 onwards are included in the initial release.
