 Clarivate Analytics appoints Keith Collier as Managing Director, Publisher Services
Clarivate Analytics has announced the appointment of Keith Collier to a newly-created leadership position of Managing Director, Publisher Services in the Scientific and Academic Research division. Collier brings more than 23 years of experience gained from working both in close collaboration and within, the publishing sector and has a deep understanding of publisher workflows. He previously headed ScholarOne – which provides comprehensive workflow management systems for scholarly journals, books and conferences – when the business was run by Thomson Reuters.

 Dr Magdalena Skipper appointed new Editor-in-Chief of Nature
Dr Magdalena Skipper, Editor-in-Chief of Nature Communications, has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Nature. Dr Skipper will be the eighth Editor-in-Chief in Nature’s 149-year history and the first to come from a life sciences background. She will succeed Sir Philip Campbell, who is moving to the newly created role of Editor- in-Chief of Springer Nature on July 1, 2018.

IOS Press has announced that 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease (JAD). One of the many events celebrating this milestone is the publication of an open access issue (JAD 62:3) looking back at 20 years of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research, which is now available online. This special issue, co-edited by Dr. George Perry, Dr. Jesús Avila and Dr. Xiongwei Zhu, features 35 specially commissioned review articles detailing 20 years of ground-breaking AD research, plus personal perspectives from key researchers in the field.

 Bibsam Consortium in deal to gain access to De Gruyter journals
The National Library of Sweden, on behalf of the Swedish Bibsam Consortium, and academic publisher De Gruyter have signed an agreement, which provides access to De Gruyter journals and includes default and immediate open access publishing. The Swedish government has set a national goal that all scholarly publications resulting from research financed with public funds should be published immediately open access.
