In response to the growing community of interdisciplinary research in materials science, the Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced two new additions to the ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces family of peer-reviewed journals. Launching in late 2018, ACS Applied Electronic Materials and ACS Applied Polymer Materials will publish original research covering all aspects of electronic materials and polymers, respectively, emphasising applied work across the fields of chemistry, biology, engineering and physics. Adoption of blockchain on the rise, lack of skilled staff hampering its development in the life science industry, says new Pistoia Alliance survey |
The Pistoia Alliance, a global, not-for-profit alliance that works to lower barriers to innovation in life sciences R&D, has announced the results of a survey on the adoption of blockchain in the pharmaceutical and life science industries. According to the survey, 60 percent of pharmaceutical and life science professionals are either using or experimenting with blockchain today, compared to 22 percent when asked in 2017; however, 40 percent are not currently looking at implementing, or have no plans to implement blockchain.
