 Springer Nature announces OA agreement with Electronic Information Service National Programme
Springer Nature and the Hungarian Academic Consortium (EISZ) have announced an agreement that combines reading access and open access (OA) publishing in one single framework. Effective from January 2019, researchers from the participating consortium institutions will gain access to over 2,000 Springer journals and will have the right to publish their research via the OA model in more than 1,850 Springer hybrid journals without any direct costs, allowing wider reach of current findings and a greater benefit for both science and society.

 INSPEC to move from Web of Science to Engineering Village platform
INSPEC, the premier database for physics, astronomy, electronics engineering, computer science, mechanical and production engineering, and information technology will move from Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science (WoS) platform. Beginning January 1, 2019, INSPEC will be available for UC libraries on the Engineering Village (EV) platform, with Compendex, a broad database for engineering and applied science.

 Hindawi completes digitisation of all content for Psyche: A Journal of Entomology
Hindawi has completed the digitisation and online publication of all content for Psyche: A Journal of Entomology. Through collaboration with Jonathan Rees from the Cambridge Entomological Club, all content ever published by Psyche is now freely available and accessible to both entomologists and the public on the journal’s website. The availability of the back content of the journal ensures that Psyche can be fully acknowledged for both the historical and scientific role it has played, and also ensures that Psyche is fully aligned with Hindawi’s mission of opening access to research.

 SPARC Europe releases updated analysis of Open Data and Open Science policies
SPARC Europe has released the updated analysis of Open Data and Open Science policies across Europe. It reports a continued increase in the growth of related policies and an increase in uptake in countries where no such policy previously existed. The report is the latest update to an original analysis released in May 2017. It specifically examines activity across Europe between January and November 2018.
