Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced the launch of in silico Plants, an open access, peer-reviewed, international journal dealing with all aspects of computational plant science. Published on behalf of The Annals of Botany Company, a not-for-profit educational charity established to promote plant science worldwide, in silico Plants launched in March 2019.

 HighWire successfully launches reskinned sites for Brill
Scholarly publishing tech provider, HighWire, has successfully launched reskinned sites for Brill, to reflect the recent design refresh of their books and journals platform. Developed and hosted by HighWire, the sites are highly customised as opposed to conforming to a standard ‘off the shelf’ platform. The changes and reskins mean Brill is now equipped for the future, with sites reflective of last year’s brand design refresh, and integration into their externally hosted sites offering a seamless user experience.

BMJ has appointed its first Entrepreneur in Residence, Lara Mott, to support its strategy of working with innovators in healthcare with the aim of creating ‘a healthier world.’ The appointment is part of the BMJ New Ventures programme, which was set up in 2016 to work with entrepreneurs in young companies who share its vision for a healthier world, and who can benefit from the company’s medical expertise, communications, and distribution channels.
