 AWIS launches STEM Equity Community Platform with Elsevier’s support
The Association for Women in Science (AWIS) has announced the launch of the ADVANCE Resource and Coordination (ARC) Network Community which connects scholars and practitioners committed to equity in STEM. In support of this initiative, Elsevier’s leading reference manager and academic social network, Mendeley, will host a dedicated ARC Network group. In addition, SSRN, Elsevier’s leading early stage research and preprint server, will host a dedicated STEM First Look series to support the initiative.

 ConTech Forum to be a regular feature of the ConTech.Live calendar
Last week at the ConTech Forum, another event held mid-year as part of ConTech.Live, the audience heard from the innovators, pioneers and businesses taking a futuristic approach to what they do. Successes and failures were discussed. Delegates were also given the opportunity to assess and comment on what’s in store for ConTech 2019 on December 5th and 6th.

Scholarly publishing tech provider, HighWire, is supporting the founders of medRxiv, by providing the hosting and submissions technology that underpins the new preprint server. medRxiv, is a collaboration between its founding organisations, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), BMJ and Yale University.

 De Gruyter announces exclusive journals partnership with Maruzen-Yushodo for Japan
Academic publisher De Gruyter and Maruzen-Yushodo have entered into an exclusive sales and distribution partnership for all subscription journals owned and distributed by the Berlin-based publisher, with effect from the 2020 subscription year. Under the arrangement, Maruzen-Yushodo will assume responsibility for promoting De Gruyter’s Portfolio of 345 subscription journals and yearbooks to the Japanese academic, government and corporate markets, as well as for gathering and processing renewals, on an exclusive basis.
