The Wellcome Trust and national funding agency UK Research & Innovation are backing a project to push ‘more transparent’ communication around the nature and prices of OA publishing services. The project is being run on behalf of the international research consortium cOAlition S, with consultancy Information Power leading the venture. The journals of the American Physiological Society (APS) have adopted a format-neutral submission policy (FlexSubmit) for new manuscripts submitted after July 31, 2019. With the change, initial submissions may now be uploaded in any format to streamline the process for authors.
