The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced a partnership with the Presidential Council for Education and Scientific Research in Egypt to enhance its Knowledge Bank—to be launched in January 2016—empower its scientists and prepare a new generation scholars with the needed tools and advisement to advance their research and increase global impact. Thomson Reuters will work with the Council to support the nation’s research efforts by providing guidance through on going workshops and key tools.

Elsevier launches 11th Edition of Campbell-Walsh Urology
STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of the 11th edition of Campbell-Walsh Urology. University of Liverpool and Liverpool University Press collaborate to integrate Altmetric solutions
The University of Liverpool and Liverpool University Press have now joined a growing number of academic institutions and publishers in adopting the Altmetric for Institutions and Altmetric Badges to help their faculty, management and consumers of their content monitor and analyse the online attention surrounding their published research. Working in collaboration with the university library and research administration office, the move to implement Altmetric was a high priority for the press.

Dr. Cynthia D. Belar named interim CEO at American Psychological Association
The American Psychological Association Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Dr. Cynthia D. Belar as the interim chief executive officer, effective January 1. She will succeed Dr. Norman B. Anderson, who is retiring at year-end. Belar has a wealth of knowledge about APA, garnered from her experience as a member of APA governance, a division leader and, most recently, having served as APA’s executive director for education from 2000 until her retirement in 2014.

ACC to establish PINNACLE Registry in Mexico
The American College of Cardiology will partner with the ACC Mexico Chapter, in collaboration with both the Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología and the Asociación Nacional de Cardiólogos de México, to establish a registry network in Mexico that is aligned with the ACC’s PINNACLE Registry. The ACC and the leadership of the Mexican societies signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the annual meeting of the Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología on Nov. 22, 2015.
