Academic publisher SAGE Publishing has announced the purchase of three journals from academic publisher, IM Publications. IM Publications is a specialist publisher of books and journals, primarily in analytical chemistry. As of 2017, SAGE will be publishing the European Journal of Mass Spectrometry, Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy and NIR news.

Wiley and AlphaMed Press announce expanded co-publishing partnership
Publisher John Wiley and Sons, Inc., and The AlphaMed Company, Inc., dba AlphaMed Press has announced an expanded co-publishing partnership for AlphaMed’s prestigious portfolio of scholarly journals in stem cell research, regenerative and translational medicine, and oncology. Beginning in January 2017, Wiley will assume co-publishing responsibility for AlphaMed’s industry-leading publication, The Oncologist, along with its Open Access journal, STEM CELLS Translational Medicine.

EBSCO Information Services releases Serial Price Projection for 2017
EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has released the 2017 Serials Price Projection Report, according to which, the overall effective publisher price increases for academic/medical libraries are expected to be in the range of 5 to 6 percent (before currency impact). EBSCO bases the information in the Serials Price Projection Report on surveys of a wide range of publishers and reviews of historical serials pricing data to assist information professionals as they make budgeting decisions for renewals season.
