 Springer Nature and Tsinghua University Press present fifth Nano Research Award
The annual Nano Research Award, sponsored by Tsinghua University Press (TUP) and Springer Nature, was presented to two outstanding scientists on July 1, 2018 in Chengdu, China. The Nano Research Award was established by the journal Nano Research together with TUP and Springer, and is given to individual scientists who have contributed significantly to nanoscience research. The winner is selected by an award committee made up of the editors-in-chief, associate editors, representatives from TUP and Springer Nature.

 Prof. Cristina Nevado joins international Science of Synthesis Editorial Board
Prof. Cristina Nevado of the University of Zürich’s Chemistry Institute, has joined the Science of Synthesis (SOS) Editorial Board with immediate effect. Science of Synthesis, a continually updated chemical reference resource, presents chemists from all sectors, including industry as well as research institutes and universities, with established and proven synthetic methods for a comprehensive range of compound classes. Prof. Nevado brings her expertise in the synthesis of complex natural products and catalysis to her new role.

 IOS Press posts strong Impact Factor growth
IOS Press has announced an Impact Factor increase of 18.23% across its 29 journals currently covered in the 2017 Journal Citation Reports® (JCR) released by Clarivate Analytics last week. Journals in biomedicine and rehabilitation medicine achieved the most significant gains. Particularly noteworthy is the Journal of Vestibular Research, the official journal of the Bárány Society, with a 218% increase from 0.900 to 2.865.

IOP Publishing (IOP) has announced that the staff and students at institutions that have purchased its ebooks can now buy print copies of books, directly from iopscience.org. The myPrint service is available for any book an institution has bought electronically.

 LIBER appoints Jeannette Frey as new President
The Association of European Research Libraries (LIBER) has appointed Jeannette Frey, Director of the Bibliothèque Cantonale et Universitaire (BCU) Lausanne, as its 12th President. She will succeed Kristiina Hormia-Poutanen of the National Library of Finland, who served as LIBER President from 2014-2018 and was the first female President in LIBER’s history.
