Publisher John Wiley & Sons Inc. and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) have announced that AAPM&R has selected Wiley as its publishing partner for PM&R—The Journal of Injury, Function and Rehabilitation.  AAAS chief executive Rush D. Holt to retire later in 2019
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has announced that Rush D. Holt, CEO and executive publisher of the Science family of journals, will retire later in 2019. The AAAS Board of Directors will launch an international search for the next CEO to succeed Holt, who plans to serve as the organisation’s chief executive until early fall to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming CEO.

 ALPSP submits formal response to Call for Feedback on Guidance on the Implementation of Plan S
The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) has submitted a formal response to the Call for Feedback on Guidance on the Implementation of Plan S. ALPSP recognises that Plan S aims to escalate the movement of journals to a fully open access business model and are supportive of the central principles of Plan S. However, the Society believes that the scale and complexity of the proposed transition, together with the short timescale involved, could introduce unintended consequences, and would like cOAlition S to take this into consideration.

 MDPI announces OA agreement with Austrian Academic Library Consortium and Austrian Science Fund
Open access publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) has announced the establishment of a fully transparent open access agreement with the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ) and the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Through this national agreement, the 15 Austrian institutions as well as FWF will cover the Article Processing Charges (APC) of manuscripts published by eligible corresponding or funded authors in MDPI journals as long as central funds are available.
