 Wiley announces official knowledge partnership with Automation Anywhere
John Wiley and Sons Inc., a global leader in research and education, has announced an official knowledge partnership with Automation Anywhere®, the global leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), to create a series of job-role based official study guides and aligned courses on RPA. The first set of courses and materials, known as Wiley-Automation Anywhere Official RPA Study Guides and Courseware Series, is set to launch in October 2019.  MIT Press releases ‘Mind the Gap,’ a new report on all available open-source publishing software
The MIT Press has released Mind the Gap: A Landscape Analysis of Open Source Publishing Tools and Platforms (openly published at mindthegap.pubpub.org), a major report on the current state of all available open-source software for publishing. Funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the report sheds light on the development and deployment of open-source publishing technologies in order to aid institutions and individuals decision-making and project planning.

 UC faculty urges Elsevier to restart negotiations
A group of prominent University of California faculty will step away from the editorial boards of scientific journals published by Elsevier until the publishing giant agrees to restart negotiations. The negotiations, which stalled in February, left the 10-campus system without subscriptions to some of the world’s top scholarly journals. A lettercirculating since July 12 throughout the UC system and already signed by 30 faculty from four UC campuses cautions Elsevier that the signatories will suspend their services on editorial boards of the 28 Cell Press journals.
