The Web of Science Group, a Clarivate Analytics company, has named Dr. Erjia Yan as the recipient of the 2019 Eugene Garfield Award for Innovation in Citation Analysis, at the 17th International Conference on Scientometrics and Informetrics in Rome. This award recognises scientists who work on innovative approaches to citation analysis which improve how the impact of scientific research is measured. Stellenbosch University (SU) has launched their new institutional data repository, SUNScholarData, powered by Figshare. Their repository is available at https://scholardata.sun.ac.za/. Their new data repository allows research data outputs from the University to be stored, shared, and cited, giving researchers credit for all their work. All outputs in their repository are assigned a DOI for persistent identification and data is marked for indexing in search engines like Google Dataset Search.
