 Elsevier wins six first prizes and three BMA Special Prizes
Elsevier, a global information analytics business specialising in science and health, and its authors had another strong showing at the British Medical Association’s (BMA) annual BMA Medical Book Awards ceremony, winning six of the 20 categories and three BMA Special Prizes. A panel of 400 judges reviewed the 600 titles submitted to the BMA from publishers around the globe. A total of 41 Elsevier professional and scholarly products were honoured.

 Springer Publishing Company moves journal portfolio to ScholarOne
The Web of Science Group, a Clarivate Analytics company, has announced that Springer Publishing Company, the innovative nursing, behavioural and health sciences, and medical publisher, is moving its manuscript submission and peer review system to ScholarOne. The new agreement covers all of Springer Publishing Company’s journals.

A new journal from Cambridge University Press will take a radical new approach to both publishing and peer reviewing research. Experimental Results aims to tackle the crisis in the reproducibility of results, provide an outlet for standalone research that currently goes unpublished and to make peer review faster, less onerous and more transparent.

 CRKN launches 2019 Journal Value Analytics tool
The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has launched the 2019 Journal Value Analytics (JVA) tool for members. Compiled annually, the JVA tool combines pricing, subject, and usage data to evaluate CRKN-licensed journal packages and provides a broad perspective of member collections at the title level. This year’s JVA tool includes the two major CRKN journal licenses currently up for renewal: Springer and Taylor & Francis.
