 Elsevier announces winners of the Reaxys PhD Prize 2019
Elsevier, a global information analytics business specialising in science and health, has announced the three winners of the 2019 Reaxys PhD Prize at the Reaxys PhD Prize Symposium held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Celebrating outstanding research by young chemists across the globe, the Reaxys PhD Prize recognises innovative and rigorous research in chemistry and associated sciences. 2019 marks the Reaxys PhD Prize’s ninth edition, which received almost 4,000 submissions from over 50 countries.

 Kudos invites partners for new research project to identify and prioritise publishing innovations for audiences outside of academia
Kudos, the service for accelerating research impact through strategic communications management, is launching a major new research project, ‘Bridging the Divide’. This study will explore the growing requirement for researchers to engage with audiences outside of academia; the motivations and expectations of funders relating to this ‘broader impact’, and the budget being made available; and opportunities for publishing in developing new service and content offerings to help bridge the ‘knowledge chasm’ between those that produce and use research.

 Cambridge University Press to offer free books and journals to mark World Mental Health Day
Academic publisher Cambridge University Press has announced that about 200 book chapters and journal articles are being made free to access online to mark World Mental Health Day. The titles, which cover various aspects of mental health and wellbeing, will be available to read free of charge until the end of October.

 Bukkyo University selects Ex Libris Alma library services platform
Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the Bukkyo University library has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform. It will be used in conjunction with the Ex Libris Summon® discovery service, which the university implemented in 2011. Bukkyo University is replacing a locally developed integrated library system (ILS) with the Alma platform.

 De Gruyter launches the University Press Library
Academic publisher De Gruyter has announced the launch of the University Press Library. The University Press Library is the result of a five-year pilot project initiated by De Gruyter, the three prestigious presses of Harvard, Columbia and Princeton with collaboration from LYRASIS and ten participating academic libraries. The pilot project sought to address the challenges of acquiring complete DRM-free frontlist eBook collections of university press content for both the press and the academic library.
