Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. and Macmillan Learning have expanded their partnership to ensure more students have immediate and affordable access to their course materials. Through the companies’ new agreement, Macmillan Learning’s digital content, courseware, and eBooks will be made available nationwide through inclusive access models offered on campuses served by BNED through its Barnes & Noble College and MBS Textbook Exchange subsidiaries.

 SPIE Digital Library reaches milestone of half-a-million publications
The SPIE Digital Library, the online publishing platform of SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has reached the milestone of 500,000 publications. SPIE published 11 peer-reviewed journals. The newest of these, Advanced Photonics, a high-impact open-access journal in partnership with Chinese Laser Press, launched in January 2019. Each year, the Society publishes more than 300 conference proceedings volumes from its worldwide symposia, as well as a number of proceedings on behalf of partnering organisations.

 Canadian Medical Association names Dr. Suzanne Strasberg as new board chair
Canadian Medical Association (CMA) has named Dr. Suzanne Strasberg as its board chair. Dr. Strasberg will begin her term in August 2019. Dr. Strasberg brings with her extensive experience in medicine, medical leadership, and board governance. She has served as a board member with the CMA, and as board chair, board director and president of the Ontario Medical Association.
